The healthy cookies at Laura’s WJF were created with sensible snacking in mind for everyday people. You can taste the difference, because we make our healthy oatmeal cookies like we’re making them for family and friends. Dr. Laura used the knowledge she picked up in her real life experiences to craft her signature flavors. From events in medical school, to her encounters with real people facing the challenges of healthy eating, these experiences all played an essential part in how each healthy cookie at Laura’s WJF was created.
How did our healthy oatmeal raisin cookie come about? Dr. Laura recounts how the idea for this healthy oatmeal raisin cookie was conceived:
“When I was in medical school, I did a rotation on family medicine at a vegan health institute. I was amazed at what they could make with healthy ingredients. This gave me the inspiration to make my own healthy cookie recipes, such as recipes for healthy oatmeal cookies or healthy oatmeal raisin cookies. When creating the healthy oatmeal cookie recipe, I knew that adding raisins would make the cookie taste sweeter, so I put in some lemon to counteract the sweet. I added cinnamon to give the cookie the right amount of kick. The whole oats and the fruit adds to the whole texture and gives this healthy oatmeal cookie a rich mouth feel without all the fat.”

“These are not the prettiest snacks in the world, but think of those jumbo iced cookies, decorated to the nines, that taste like sugared cardboard once you take a bite. Laura’s cookies are the opposite: Dance 10, Looks 3. We’ve eaten them all and are still dancing.”
