Hello creaters of the yummiest snack
food ever -
I had the good fortune to stumble
across Laura's "Better Brownie" Bite-lettes on a recent trip
to NYC, when I was at Whole Foods. Luckily, I was shopping
on an empty stomach, and these were crying out to me from
the shelf.
Alas, not long after arriving back
home in Rochester, NY, my limited supply ran out, and just
tonight, I spent 20 minutes on the phone with the poor Whole
Foods team members in the Bakery and Grocery departments,
bugging them to track down the cookies (because I couldn't
remember the brand name and was kicking myself for not
saving the package). Anyway, I've found you - and I noticed
on your website that you've got a Rochester-based consultant
named Lisa. My question to Lisa (or whomever your sales
evangelist is these days) is whether anyone has approached
Wegman's about carrying this brand in their "Nature's
Marketplace" department? I figured I'd ask, before I march
in there myself and demand they start carrying them. Then
again, does anyone get away with demanding anything from the
Wegmans?
My last resort will be ordering them
directly from you guys - but I shudder to think how much I'd
expand the "junk in the trunk" if faced with multiple tubs
of your yummy bite-lettes - willpower, schmillpower. And now
that I've seen all the other varieties available on your
website, how will I sleep at night, knowing that I have yet
to try the oatmeal chocolate chip, banana split and cole's
choc chip bite-lettes?? Help!!
hopelessly addicted,
Cathy

From a college student who heard Dr. Laura speak Laura, Thank you for coming to UCLA and for sharing your advice. Thinking of my body as a vehicle that must be properly fueled and maintained really flipped my perspective! The following evening I stopped by Whole Foods to pick up some oatmeal chocolate chip bite-lettes. They are awesome. Wishing you continued success in 2008.
Best Regards,
Julie Walmsley

Dear Laura and staff,
I want to thank you. You have really made a difference in my life and I appreciate it.
We have a kosher home. Finding kosher junk food has never been difficult. There are a lot of cookies, candies, and snacks available in the local grocery stores.
About 6 weeks ago I was placed on a gluten free diet. Oh boy. Not only kosher, but also gluten free. Yes, I have found a number of cookies and other snack foods. But I always feel so guilty eating them.
And then, one day, I was in My Organic Market in Rockville MD and I saw Laura's healthy junk food, gluten free, kosher, delicious, AND healthy. Oh what joy! I can finally enjoy eating, and without guilt.
Frankly, I don't know if I'm on the gluten free diet for life or whether I will someday be able to eat donuts and regular bagels again. Regardless of my diet requirements, I will continue to eat Laura's healthy (delicious, guilt-free) junk food.
Again, thanks again.
Dr. Cynthia

Thank you so much for the wonderful junk food! Being out in the middle of the desert causes a loss of reality; now we know what we have been missing. Your cookies are great. I passed them around + I know you’ll have new customers. Thank you so much.

At the
recommendation of a friend I decided to try a gluten-free
lifestyle only three short weeks ago. Even in that short
time my palette has changed and I crave healthier foods
although I knew it was only a matter of time before the
lifelong chocoholic in me would require a brownie fix.
Previous GF cookies have satisfied my sweet tooth so I
wasn't worried about finding snacks……..but then came along
your treats. I found them during my recent visit to Whole
Foods…..or rather they found me….glaring, tempting,
screaming my name until I picked up a carton of Better
Brownie. OH MY! What sinful little bites those are! Now
the only worry I have is overindulgence. As my boyfriend
jokingly reminds me…"Just because it's GF doesn't mean it
won't go to your a--!". Ha! You have created a
masterpiece. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm
spreading the word.

From an avid
cyclist:
I was very pleased with the product during the "Burn." A
little more information about the event helps put my
experience in context...I raced as a member of a two-person
team. You race on mountain bikes from noon Saturday until
noon Sunday through the night. We finished 6th in our
class…not bad for a couple of patent attorneys.
In any event, generally, the strategy I follow for these types of
endurance … is to keep up the fluids, electrolytes, carbs,
and fats. The latter is where I think you're product helped
me most, although the nice dose of K+/Na+ and carbs in your
product helped too. The non-refined, and all-natural
composition of your product was easy on the stomach which is
usually a big issue (at least for a 34 year old like me) and
really had a pleasing taste (Lemon-Vanilla and Chocolate
were my favs and I stuck with them). It appears that indeed
one problem long distance racers seem to encounter is being
able to (literally) chew, swallow, and keep down food,
especially when it gets hot. I found a couple of your
bitelettes between laps helped keep things in check. The
taste and especially the consistency suited me very well.
Very soft, very little effort to chew, only a bit of liquid
required to wash down. There are only so many … your body
can take after riding for a sustained period in 90+ degree
heat. I found your biteletts to be a nice alternative to
[other bars] which is the source that I previously turned to
for more substantive food to sit in your stomach.
The bottom line is that the product served as a very palatable
complement to a mix of other things that I guzzled during
the event, and I think it helped keep my gut in check and
provided some slow burning fuel in conjunction with some
other pure carb compositions that I took on board. I think
at the next race (two weeks...24 hours of big bear), I may
load up a little bit more pre-race (maybe 2 or 3 a couple of
hours prior) to see how that works.
Again, keep up the good work and I wish you much success.

On a separate point,
and outside of my role as President of Grandparents.com, I
just wanted to rave about your cookies one more time.
Really extraordinary.

I was craving
something sweet but low fat and bought the Oatmeal Raisin

good work and know you have some fans here in the great

Hi! I just wanted
to send you a note to say that I really like the Oatmeal
Chocolate chip bite-lettes I tried from Whole Foods. I also
got the X-treme Chocolate ones and they are great too. It's
hard to believe that they aren't really too unhealthy. They
taste fantastic!
…Thanks for making such a great product available.

I just wanted to
thank you. I am about 3 ½ months pregnant and just got over
a bad queasy spell these last couple weeks. My body seems to
be craving natural foods, and Laura’s wholesome junk food
has hit the spot every time. I have told so many people
about your product and hope that sales are going well,
because you deserve it! It seems that there are less and
less natural foods out there and it is a shame to see.
My all time favorite is Charlotte’s choc chip bite-lettes.
Thank you for being there and helping me through my pregnancy!

the lemon vanilla & chocolate ones up at Whole Foods a

Whole foods is about an hour away & with 3 little ones I
don't get to go as often as I would like. This time I bought

I had to drop a
quick email to let you know about this WONDERFUL snack. We
have a technician ar work who is VERY health conscious. He
"teases" us in the office for drinking sodas, eating
chocolate and our overall bad choices of unhealthy snacks.
He dropped by the office today and gave us a container of these
little Anna Banana Split Bite-lettes. Yummy, Yummy,
Yummy!!!! How wonderful to throw all these marvelous flavors
into this little snack. I taste the sweetness from the
banana, the crunchiness from the [oatmeal], and most
importantly, the wonderful chocolate.
Thanks for a great snack! I will definitely pick up a container
(or two) for my kids at home. They will just love them!

I am totally
addicted to your Oatmeal Chocolate Chip bites! They rock my
world!!!!!! What a great, healthy alternative!!!! I have 2

satisfying, great flavor, they're so moist and delicious!
The perfect portion for dessert. Perfect!!!

Just wanted to tell
you these are absolutely delicious! I bought a tub at the
Whole Foods Market in Pasadena and love them!!! I am a
bariatric surgery patient and am always looking for little
sweet things with not too much sugar, a bit of protein, and
some nutritional value. For us, it’s all about fewer grams
of sugar and more grams of protein. These are tasty little
treats. I’m so glad I found them.

My ladyfriend from
Greensboro, NC just came here (I live in Norway), and she
brought a box of your oatmeal raisin bite-lettes. Oh. My. …
This is the closest I've ever been to religion. You HAVE to
start selling these in Norway!
I couldn't care less about how healthy and vegan they are, I just
think they taste like... sex. Please, PLEASE, my dearest
Laura, make sure I can get hold of these in my local health
shop the next time I need them. Hurry up, there are just
three more bites left!

I tried the Banana

Just wanted to say I
bought some Anna-Banana Split Bite-lettes at the Whole Foods
Market and I really, really liked them. They are much
better and tastier then I thought and I loved the mixture
and texture of coconut, oats and chocolate chips. You'd
never think they were health food treats. I plan on buying
more and hope you will still make them

No, unfortunately I
never found the support group. … But now that I'm thinking
about it, I suppose you didn't ask because you were worried
about my welfare, only to plant the idea of "hopping in the
car for a 5 hour drive to my quasi local Whole Foods" so I
can taste your sweet, seductive ambrosia once more.
No. No, I realize that if I were to do so I would have fallen into
your cunning trap: make me blow my hard earned cash on the
ridiculously high priced gas to get me to Whole Foods, where
I will promptly empty my college funds into your open arms
in exchange for buckets and buckets of Anna Banana
goodness.
Mara.

1st things 1st I am
a guy and most guys don’t write in about cookies. However
these are not any old cookies, these are little bites from
heaven! O.K. all fun aside I am a 34 year old Dad of two
boys, and very avid cyclist, and I bought your “Anna- Banana
split bite-lettes” at Whole Foods today and am going back
tomorrow to buy all the flavors.

I bought the oatmeal
chocolate chip last week at Whole Foods Market in Rochester,
Michigan. It was the first time I'd seen the product, I
loved the ingredients listed on the package and the taste
more than met my expectations. That's why I got online and
ordered more! I live about 45 minutes away from the store
so I can't get there all the time.
Thanks for providing such a high quality product. My husband even
liked them and he is very fussy about his sweets!

I had just ordered
my grandma (who lives with my aunt) in NJ a sampler pack for
her b-day. She loves them--and she won't share them with
anybody; my aunt has to sneak them early in the morning
before my grandma wakes up.

I just wanted to let
you know that my family thought that your Oatmeal Chocolate
Chip Bite-lettes were sensational. They are probably the
best cookie we have had in a long time. We especially
enjoyed the flavor, and the fact that they were so moist
they almost seemed like they were dough and not cookies.
Yummy!

I just wanted to say
“thank you” for making the yummiest junk food ever!! First
I bought the oatmeal raisin and then the brownie ones. My
favorite are the oatmeal raisin, though!!

I found your
bitelettes at Whole Foods in downtown Chicago. They are
delicious! So far I've only tried the oatmeal chocolate
chip. I'm planning on trying some of the others. The only
problem is... I can't ever eat just 2.
Karen

Right now umm I’m

Hello Laura and
Laura's gang. I am writing from … in regards to 'Bite-lettes.'
When I found the first container of bite-lettes in the snack
bag (the little soft cooler my wife carries around for our
two daughters), I thought, "Hmmm, what are these?" I
sampled one, then two, then three. When my wife, caught me
with my hand in the bite-lette jar, she scolded me, claimed
them as hers, and that was that. Well, a quick trip to the
market remedied that situation, and now I have a container
of my own.
When [she] read the ingredients, I said, in my very mature way,
"You forgot about the extra Yum." She smiled a little, and
rolled her eyes- I still think it's funnier than that.
Anyway, the Bite-lettes are delicious- the Anna-Banana Split being
the household favorite.
Thanks for making them, and good luck.
Harry
PS You will probably notice a spike in sales in the …
region- that's us.

I just wanted to
send you this quick email to let you know how much I love
your product :) I've only just discovered them about an
hour ago, and I'm thrilled! I, like so many others, need to
watch my nutritional intake...sugar in particular. I've
really missed my sweets and have only found really yucky
alternatives that have left me very sad : That is until I
discovered your Xtreme Chocolate Fudge Bite-lettes! HOORAY!
I can eat chocolate again! I was shopping at Whole Foods
and they had samples out, and I’m so glad. I can't wait to
try your other yummy goods!
All I can say is...it's about time! Someone came up with some yummy
healthy sweets!
Thank you!!

I was recently in
North Carolina and I tried your chocolate vegan snacks!
They were great! I bought as many as I could bring back on
the plane! I am vegan and it’s hard to find good snacks! I
offered a couple of non vegan people in our meeting to try
them and they finished off one of my containers!

I bought a tub of
the chocolate chip oatmeal bites today after having a sample
at the Valencia Whole Foods Market and I have to say WOW
THEY’RE SO DELICIOUS!! … I had my mom with me and the
cookies barely made it home for the rest of the family to
taste because we loved them! We'll definitely be buying
more and trying out the rest of your line. I'm so glad we
went shopping at Whole Foods today! We definitely have a
new favorite snack!

Just wanted to drop
a quick note to say that your Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bite-lettes
are awesome! I brought them to the office for a snack and
the whole office ended up eating them (these are Tollhouse
cookie types of people, mind you).
So, thank you for making a sweet snack that is not bad for you!

Just wanted to say
thanks for a great product. I love the bite-lettes, which
are the perfect occasional treat to supplement my very
successful Weight Watchers food plan.
After sampling some bite-lettes at Whole Foods, I bought 5
containers--one for myself, and others for friends.

Your Laura's Wholesome Junk Food is quite possibly the best snack food I have ever eaten. I bought the Chocolate Fudge Bite-lettes and the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bite-lettes. They rival some of the best cookies my grandmothers made! I can't wait to go back to Whole Foods and buy 20 containers (I ate them sparingly, but I want to share now!) Thanks so much for such a great product.

Hello Dr. Laura,
I shop at my local market called Belden's. It's located in Braeswood Square in Houston, TX
...I have my 5th container of the Banana/Chocolate Chip flavor on my desk. I simply love it!
I'm an Emotional Health Practitioner and offer help to people fighting "emotional eating" patterns
using EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) which is very effective for those drawn to harmful diet choices.
I've offered your treats to my clients and they love 'em. No surprise, they are SO good. The great thing is
that I can teach them about servings and use a good "junk food" in the process.
Thanks again for creating such a wonderful product and it's something that I can use to assist me in my
practice as well as snack on with my yogurt in the mornings. YUM!
Take care,
Kim

About 2 years ago, I found out that I have Celiac Disease which restricts me from eating food containing gluten. while at one of my first Gluten Fee food shopping trips at Whole Foods, I spied a little "post-it" sized sign that read "Gluten free cookies", with a tiny arrow at the bottom. I followed it. At the other end of the aisle I see the same sign (arrowless) above a shelf of 2 flavors of your cookies. Boy was I happy! First thing, like always, I read the ingredients, I couldn't believe that there were so few items! and all of them being "real" food. I thought, "man this is too good!" so I slyly grabbed one of each flavor, took three of four steps and turned around to grab one more of each. after eating all the flavors, I decided that I love all of them. I am a competitive cyclist and I never leave for a ride without at least a few before a ride. I can't thank you enough for this gluten free, energy boosting, "real" food, awesome tasting, kick ass cookies! these cookies continue to save my live at snack time, rides and races. I love you!

“I just bought some of your cookies from the display table at Whole Foods. I try to buy only healthy, natural, organic foods for my family and for the most part no one complains. The only time I hear any resistance from the troops is when I bring home the sweets. My kids says "they taste funny" or" look funny" or just refuse to even try them due to the post traumatic stress of previous experience.
But today was different. When I went to the check out I noticed several Whole Foods employees coming back again and again to the display and sampling the cookies. We're talking about teenagers (and most of them boys) who were in love with cookie bits. I decided I'd give them a try. And thank god I did because they were Delicious!!!!!! So much so, I told the kids they wouldn't like them because they were more of those healthy cookies. Somehow they caught on that this might be different than past experiences (my kids are smart! and I'm not good at hiding my my sounds of delight and satisfaction when I'm eating them).
Needless to say...they tried them and liked them. Next time I go I'll buy two tubs and hide two in the car.
Thank You thank You. "
